Gingerbread anyone?

Every year for the last ten years The Vaterlaus Family and ours has gotten together to make gingerbread(graham cracker) houses. Jarrett was a baby the first year we started with real gingerbread and our house fell down. We had the wrong frosting. We have learned a little along the way but mostly just have fun.

Everyone gets there own house and we bring lots of different candies.

Thats not the gingerbread house.

Devin did a lot more texting than putting candy on his house. He probably ate more too.

All the houses done.
Close ups.
Jarrett made a hot tub for Santa

Avery is finally smiling and Devin is texting still.

I noticed that this year everyone was very careful how they put the candy on. In years past it was who could get the most on. I also noticed that I didn't take any pictures of myself. I will have to ask Misty if she has any.

Blue and Gold Dinner

The Cub Scout Blue and Gold Dinner(this is to celebrate the birthday of the cubscouts) was last night. It was lot more relaxing for me since I am no longer a den leader. The theme was American ABC's. So they had each boy pick a state to represent and make flags and info about that state for the dinner. The boys also had to make a cake with their dads, no female help at all. I bought the ingredients but that was all. Jarrett had picked Arizona. As you can see they really got into the frosting of the cake. Jarrett was very proud of the final product. These are some of the other cakes that the other boys brought. Jarrets' is the one in the upper right hand corner. Zachary thought that we could get the cake when we first got there. He had his plate all ready. He was disappointed when we told him that we needed to eat dinner first. So of course he said let's eat right now.

We also had a special guest. My uncle Ron had a conference here in Sacramento so we had him come with us to the dinner while he was visiting. It was good to see him. He reminds me alot of my grandfather.
