Blue and Gold Dinner

The Cub Scout Blue and Gold Dinner(this is to celebrate the birthday of the cubscouts) was last night. It was lot more relaxing for me since I am no longer a den leader. The theme was American ABC's. So they had each boy pick a state to represent and make flags and info about that state for the dinner. The boys also had to make a cake with their dads, no female help at all. I bought the ingredients but that was all. Jarrett had picked Arizona. As you can see they really got into the frosting of the cake. Jarrett was very proud of the final product. These are some of the other cakes that the other boys brought. Jarrets' is the one in the upper right hand corner. Zachary thought that we could get the cake when we first got there. He had his plate all ready. He was disappointed when we told him that we needed to eat dinner first. So of course he said let's eat right now.

We also had a special guest. My uncle Ron had a conference here in Sacramento so we had him come with us to the dinner while he was visiting. It was good to see him. He reminds me alot of my grandfather.

Science Fair Project

Jarrett had his science fair this past week. So far he is the only one that was bugging me to help him get it done before it was due. We had it all done by Sunday night and the Science Fair was Thursday night. It was nice not to have to stay up late to get it all done. Jarrett pretty much came up with the idea and worked on it all by himself. He had water, salt water, and colored water and froze them. Then he saw how long it took for each to melt. I was very impressed. Way to go Jarrett.

Pinewood Derby 2009

This year I am not a cub scout leader so it was fun to just be able to watch. There was popcorn and cotton candy to eat while you watched the races. Jarrett came in third and you would have thought that he won by the way that he acted. A fun night for all.

Jarrett won this race

Pismo Beach 2008

As you can see I am posting old pictures but I am just getting this blog thing down
and my mom wanted to see these pictures. Every couple of years the Haynie Family goes to Pismo Beach. We stay in condos for a week and just enjoy beach living. I know there are more pictures but my sister Claire and brother Richard have those. Hint, hint. We went kayaking, quading, fishing off the pier, shopping( the girls like this the best ), playing in the water, playing in the sand and just relaxing. Each night a different family made dinner and that was fun and delicious. We can't wait until next time.
The Grandkids

This was so cool.

Grandpa making crepes for breakfast. He is the expert at it. First, a hot crepe, nutella, strawberries, bananas and whiped cream. Roll it up and eat as many as grandpa will make.
Yum yum
